The making of the Tramontana Table begins on the exposed northern coastline of Menorca, where centuries of wind and sea have carved the rock into forms beyond invention.

This geology was then scanned directly — preserving the memory of erosion, pressure, and time — before refining the form and working it by hand. The resulting pattern was sandcast in aluminium at one of the last remaining foundries of the Tyrol, Austria.

The piece sits between landscape and object, map and table. The surface carries the specific character of Menorcan coastal rock: smooth-worn hollows, sharp ridges.

Its circular form isolates the terrain like a specimen or a relief — something excavated rather than designed, a collaboration between natural force and human intention, made permanent in metal.
